You have to be part of it to feel it!

You have to be part of it to feel it.

In the cold, many things become simpler. You come into the present, pay attention to your body’s signals and discover how you respond to a natural yet intense experience. Afterwards comes a sense of freedom, energy, a smile and the feeling that you’ve gone a little beyond your usual limits.

You don’t need to be exceptional or prove anything. You can progress at your own pace, learning more about how your body works and what feels right for you.

Here, you can be yourself. In a safe, welcoming and supportive community, we experience the same cold, encourage each other and share the moment. Knowledge and expertise underpin our experience.

New to the cold?

Start with us!

You don’t have to get straight into ice-cold water. There are many ways to get started: a cold shower, washing your face with cold water, a brief plunge, a refreshing dip or just a few strokes in cold water.

Come along to HVT’s cold-water dips! You can try the cold in a safe environment, and we’ll show you how to get started, listen to your body and gradually make cold exposure part of your everyday life.

Where the cold becomes a shared experience.

Group activities, camps and trips bring us together. We also organise events where shared experiences and professional organisation go hand in hand. The Winter Lake Balaton Crossing and the Hungarian National Ice Swimming Championships welcome participants with international standards and a high level of expertise.

Why do we embrace the cold?

Naturally closer to yourself.

The cold is a natural environment. Our bodies have known and adapted to it for thousands of years.

Mindful cold exposure takes you out of your routine, offers a fresh perspective and teaches you to pay closer attention to yourself. Your body is working too: adapting, regulating and recovering.

For us, cold exposure is a natural activity that can contribute to physical health, well-being and a more active, mindful lifestyle.

A community that shares more than cold-water dips.

For the Coldwater Tribe, community also means looking out for each other and taking responsibility together.

We organise group blood donations, take part in environmental initiatives, clean up forests and work to support the natural environments and communities we live in.

For us, being close to nature is part of everyday life, both in and out of the water.
